The Test People Keep Postponing
Authorization from ČKAIT, the Czech Chamber of Chartered Engineers and Technicians Engaged in Construction, is a professional milestone for engineers and technicians in construction. Without it, you can’t independently sign off on designs or lead construction to the extent the authorization allows. Most candidates have the practice behind them, because they do it every day. What holds them back is the written test.
The test itself is short. Under the chamber’s guidelines in force since 11 June 2025, it has 30 questions, 20 from the general part and 10 from the specialist part, and a time limit of at most 30 minutes. You pass with at least 80% in each part separately. Between 51% and 79% you get supplementary questions, and at 50% or less you fail. Under the current authorization rules, a new application in the same field and grade can be filed only after a year.
The short part is the exam. The long part is everything it can ask: for building construction, the chamber’s official question bank has hundreds of questions, mostly about law and regulations. That scope feels like one solid block that you can’t tackle "just in the evenings". So preparation gets postponed. Until next winter. Until there’s less work. Until.
ČKAIT Autorizace is the web app we built for exactly those people.
Don’t Learn Everything at Once
We didn’t want another question bank with a "next" button. There are plenty of those, and they only work for people who already know how to plan their learning. We wanted a method that does the planning for you.
It starts from one simple idea: a mistake isn’t a failure, it’s a filter. It shows you where to spend your next hour. The whole app is built so that the number of questions you have to deal with shrinks with every step.

The app has three modes. They aren’t three separate features to choose from. They’re one sequence:
- Learn. You pick a block, typically 50 to 100 questions from one or more topic areas. You see the correct answer straight away, with an explanation and a link to the related provision. Nothing is scored. You don’t guess, you understand the question first.
- Practise. The same block, but the answers are hidden. After each choice you see whether you were right, with the explanation. From your wrong answers you create a follow-up test, which is shorter. And from its mistakes, another one.
- Mock exam. Once your blocks are done, you take a timed test without hints: 30 random questions from the whole bank, 30 minutes. You see the answers and the explanations only after you hand it in.
Down to Zero, Then the Whole Scope Again
The step that does the real work sits between Practise and the mock exam. The rule of thumb in the app is simple: as long as you can still create a follow-up test from your mistakes, the block isn’t finished. The goal isn’t a one-off 80%. It’s zero questions you haven’t mastered.

Once every block is at zero, you go through the whole scope again. With some distance, you’ll see which questions you don’t remember reliably. You filter those out and bring them to zero too. That’s your personal list of weak spots, and it’s all you need to revise before the exam. Not hundreds of questions, just the part that really doesn’t stick.
None of this is our invention. Learning by recalling answers (retrieval practice) and repetition with a gap in between are among the best-supported methods in learning research. Our work was to turn them into a routine that someone can manage in an evening after a full day on a building site.
What’s in the App
- 556 questions for the written part in building construction, general and specialist, divided into 17 topic areas A–R: building law, construction requirements, public procurement, occupational safety, fire safety, the land register and more. The letters mark chapters of the regulations, not 17 fields of authorization.
- The questions come from the chamber’s official publication Questions for the Written Part of the Professional Competence Exam, 2nd edition V4 (30 July 2026), the chapter for building construction. The last content check was on 11 August 2026, and the bank is checked again whenever the chamber releases a new one or the regulations change.
- For each question, an explanation and a link to the related provision.
- Follow-up tests made only from your mistakes, down to zero.
- An overview: questions studied and mastered, practice and timed success rate, and the topic areas that need more work.
- A countdown to your exam date, which you set in your profile.

It runs in any modern browser, on phone and desktop. Progress is saved to your account and an unfinished test is saved automatically, so a block you start on the office computer can be finished on the tram.
One Account, 499 CZK, No Subscription
Access costs 499 CZK for 90 days, a one-off payment with no automatic renewal. We set the price so it wouldn’t become one more excuse to put the authorization off.
You create your account at checkout on the website and pay by card through Stripe. The invoice arrives by email, and the price is final, because the operator isn’t a VAT payer. Then you click Enter the app in My Account, and the website signs you into the study app with a one-time link. There’s no second registration and no second password. If you buy again, the new 90 days start where the active period ends.
What the App Is Not
I want to be precise here, because this is a professional exam:
- We are not ČKAIT and we don’t act on its behalf. This is an independent preparation tool. The chamber runs the exam and issues the official guidelines.
- The explanations are for practice. They don’t replace the current wording of the regulations or the chamber’s official guidance, and they aren’t legal advice.
- We cover the written test for building construction. The app won’t train you for the oral interview, and it doesn’t assess whether you meet the conditions for authorization (field, grade, education, length of practice). The chamber does.
- Our timed test (30 questions, 30 minutes, 80% pass mark) is an app setting. The real exam assesses the general and specialist parts separately.
- We don’t guarantee success. We only guarantee that you’ll know exactly what you don’t know yet.
Why a Developer from the WordPress World Is Doing This
I’ve spent my career building websites and products for people who don’t want to deal with technology, just with their own work. An engineer preparing for the authorization in the evenings is exactly that kind of user: little time, zero patience with an interface that gets in the way, and a clear goal.
RosettaPress and Sales Booster Kit came from problems I know from my own practice. This one comes from a field I don’t work in, so the product had to be built around what candidates need, not around what I know. That’s also why the site is so careful with its claims: it names the source and the date of the question bank, and every page repeats that we aren’t the chamber.
The shop and the accounts run on WordPress, which is the part I’ve built for years. The study itself happens in a separate web app, which is why the hand-off between them is a single click with a one-time login link rather than a second account. ckait-autorizace.cz, which I co-founded, is operated by Constructio CRM s.r.o. in Prague.
Start with the First Block
If you keep postponing your authorization, you don’t have to decide on the whole preparation. One block tonight is enough.
